Office Depot Deploys SignMaster™ web based corporate copywriting tool
Retailer estimates savings of over $1.7 million in outside printing costs
Minneapolis, MN - November 5, 2004 - Retail Technology Solutions®, a leading provider of automated sign printing solutions and data processing technologies for retailers, announces the successful launch of SignMaster, a Web-based corporate copywriting tool, to deliver promotional ad images to Office Depot’s entire chain of stores in the US and Canada.
RTS’s Web-based SignMaster™ tool allows Office Depot’s Visual Merchandising department to easily publish and print sophisticated product image signs for promotions to its stores. The old process required several weeks of lead time, contracting with an outside printing house, and distribution by corporate mail bag. The SignMaster system cuts the lead time from several weeks to less than a few hours to build and publish a chain wide promotional ad set. This increase in efficiency and reduction of outside printing costs will save Office Depot over 1.7 million dollars in its first year of operation alone.
The promotional ad set is automatically downloaded to the stores using the RTSMQ™ Messaging System and made available to store associates via the SignStation™ Web-based sign printing solution at each store. When printed, these promotional signs can automatically reflect pricing which is in effect at each individual store. This approach gives maximum flexibly because sign designers can incorporate virtually any visual aspect into their signs and still have confidence their signs will match the price at the POS register.
